Why do you care what people do on Craigslist? Are you in charge of monitoring the internet, now?

Valid question. Consenting adults should be able to do as they please, should they not? This is American, right? But America doesn't quite work that way. Just ask the State of California which passed a medical marijuana law only to the have the feds start chucking doctors into jail for prescribing marijuana for medical purposes. But perhaps you feel the feds should just go Cheney themselves and let the pot heads in California be? I hear you.

Here are my thoughts on the general topic of vices such as drugs, prostitution, et alia. Legalize it, regulate it, tax it, and try your best to clean it up. In the area of prostitution, I like the Nevada model. If a John is Jonesing for some prostitute puntang, then he just drive out to a mustang ranch and has at it. The girls are safe out there in an above board operation. Inspectors make sure all the girls are of age, consenting in their profession, and have received regular STD tests showing them clean.

What's the problem with the selling of prostitutes on Craigslist? There is a large trade in underage girls within the United States (and around the world). These girls have been kidnapped and forced into prostitution. This is a dirty little secret in America--teenage slave trade. Craigslist facilitates this inhumanity against the innocent in the USA. That's my problem. If you want to stick your head in the sand and whine about civil liberties, fine. This is America and everyone should have their voice. I speak out against injustice when I see and those who profit from it.

Think I'm blowing smoke? A large multi-state prostitution ring selling underaged girls kidnapped in other cities was busted in my hometown of St. Louis a few years back. Here are just a few articles from a Google search I did just now on the topic:
The above was gathered in a few minutes of work. It woefully under represents what's out there.
