This event points out a hypocrisy and sexism. Spitzer (a man) is ruined for an extramarital affair when the whore (a woman) becomes a millionaires. Something is rotten in the USA.

I don't begrudge the girl making out like a bandit on this one. Are any of us harmed? I'm not. My problem with the Spitzer situation, interestingly, is being questioned from the political right. Rawstory had a couple of links on the topic this morning. Ben Stein (former Nixon speech writer) gave a strong commentary against the Government hounding Spitzer out of office over prostitution. He feels this was selective enforcement that overturned the will of the people in electing Spitzer. Very good point. Then there is the Robert Novak article hinting that a Republican political operating had foreknowledge of the Spitzer investigation. If a political operative had knowledge of the sting against Spitzer, was it politically motivated? Government law enforcement cannot be used as a political tool to settle scores. If so, our democracy is in deep trouble.
