'TwitThis' Code
In tech blogs, one reads endless articles about how important it is for web publishers and merchants to promote their sites on twitter. OK, so we are all supposed to twit. But how exactly does the traffic magically descend upon our websites? Do I troll around the twittersphere begging for followers? I suppose that is one approach that may work for the depraved but one strategy that appears to make sense is for publishers / merchants to treat twitter like digg, meaning your goal is create good content for which denizens of the twittersphere shall twit a link to your site. It is the twitting of links that is key to traffic generation. How does one do that? First and foremost, create interesting and unique content. Secondly, twitter released in beta a tool that aids visitors to twit from your site. It's called "TwitThis".
You'll see a "TwitThis" link at the bottom of this page. The code to create it is very simple--
Here is a link to the twit code in a TXT format. Just paste this code wherever on a web page you wish to have a "TwitThis" link. Use the same code each time. The system picks up the URL and page title from your site and integrates them into the link. Very easy to use.

Update: It appears the above TwitThis code does not work on blogger.com. This website has a TwitThis workaround for blogger.com. Here is the code in a TXT format. 3-31-09.
