  • Anti-War Christians March on White House  "Thousands of Christians prayed for peace at an anti-war service Friday night at the Washington National Cathedral, kicking off a weekend of protests around the country to mark the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq." Link. 222 of the marchers were arrested in front of the White House for crossing a police line and fined $100. "Civil rights historian Taylor Branch said it is important for churches to be leaders in the anti-war movement. 'It seems to me sad that Christians so easily have put aside our core beliefs, that we love our enemies and we do not believe in violence.'" Link.
