 Powell Drifting Away From Republicans In an interview with Tim Russert, Colin Powell divulged that he had met twice with Sen. Obama to discuss foreign policy and, when asked whether he would definitely support a Republican candidate in the 2008 election, Powell made it clear he was open to supporting either a Republican or a Democrat.
