 Married to a narcissist Interesting quote from Nora Ephron on Hillary Clinton (whom she supports): "I think she was once a truthful person and her lying skills were forged in the early years of her marriage, forged in the crucible of Bill's infidelities and in her role as point person in dealing with them. This is what happens when you marry a narcissist: he spills the milk, you clean it up and your love grows. And then you end up a liar, just like him." Link. My first reaction was "yeah, Nora nailed it." But on further reflection, I doubt Bill is the root of all evil that dwelleth in the bosom of Hillary Rodam Clinton. People don't reach middle-age and suddenly morph into ruthless self-promoters given to pathological lying about their own accomplishments. Bill and Hillary are an old fashioned political marriage that in centuries before would have been arranged by their parents. The point of the marriage is to further political ambitions of both participants. Love and fidelity don't really enter into the equation ... only the public's perception of the couple. Bill is and always has been a world-class philander. Any woman of dignity would have thrown his ass to the curb decades ago ... unless Bill the politician suited her agenda regardless of where little wet willy has wandered. My personal opinion is that some level of substance lies behind the old and persistent rumor that Hillary is a lesbian. The whole wife and cookie baker spiel is a sham. There is not a marriage, only a professional partnership. And I do not wish to see that partnerhsip back in the White House. Go Barack! 03/31/2008. Add Comment Permalink
